Finally! Here's the answer from Ms.Vara for the Interview last time. Thanks for being patient and for those who've send in the Questions, check it out!1. Who are you?
I am a strong, dedicated, independent, goofy, super emotional, loving, hard working woman!
2. How did you get started in the music business?
One day I packed my bags with $1000 in my pocket moved to New York and jumped right into teaching myself the business and what I needed to do in order to survive and be successful. After a few years I met Chauncy Jackson and our vision connected. It has been a great experience.
3. How old were you when you decided you wanted to make a career out of singing?
Around 14 when my gymnastics career ended! I always knew I love to sing and perform so it was next on my list of career choices!
4. What kind of feeling do you get when you're in the recording studio and you hear your voice being played back at you?
A lot goes through my mind when I hear my music. I get very emotional and very excited! I get a little scared that people won't like it but happy because its an amazing feeling when you accomplish something that you have worked so hard on. I also get anxious because I can't wait to share it with everyone.
5. Obviously, right now, your schooling is probably on the back burner, since you are pursing a musical career, but do you plan to someday continue your education and pursue a degree? And if so, in what?
School has always been a priority for me! I have a degree in Communication. I knew with a degree I could follow my dreams and support myself. I also know that you can do both follow your dreams and go to school! My mom used to say, always have a back up plan!!
6. How do you choose which songs go on your album? Is there something you look for in the lyrics or in the sound?
My label and I sat down and listened to each song and really chose the songs we felt I sounded best on and which were the best lyrically!
7. The paparazzi is a constant "annoying" stable in a celebrities life nowadays. Do you feel you are prepared to handle having your picture taken constantly at all hours and angles of the day? If so, how?
Yes I am ready! I can’t wait til they catch me without makeup! J hahaha
8. How do you like the direction music is headed in right now? Do you like it or is it something you want to change and help lead a different way?
I love it and wouldn’t change anything! TODAY! J
9. Who influences you musically and why?
Prince! He continues to put out great music and people love him!
10. Who was your favorite producer you worked with for the album?
I have a few favorites including Mathieu Gordon who did a track called “Easy” and the Insomiax!! They did “Lately”
11. What is the creative process for you like?
Singing, writing, studio, working out, rehearsals for dance, rehearsals with band. I try and place myself in a zone so that
I can get the best out of myself.
12. What's your favorite song to perform live?
There is a song on the album called “In My Heart” that really gets me going but for the most part I love performing all the songs.
13.What song means the most to you (whether you wrote it or not)?
“Water” because it has so many meanings and when I first heard it in studio I really felt a strong connection to the lyrics and the sound!
14. How tough is the entertainment industry, and how do you deal what it throws your way?
You go through many ups and downs. Everyone has an opinion and many people will try to hold you back! You really have to know who you are, who you can truly trust and most of all through everything continue believing in yourself and your craft! My faith, values, family and friends who love me and know me best are how and why I have been able to survive the industry!
15. Where do you see yourself in five years, both professionally and personally?
I hope to be in a place of peace and happiness with both my career and personally!
